Vida Ami Kukula is a Principal Nursing Officer (Midwifery) with the Social Science Department at Dodowa Health Research Centre. Previously,
Vida worked as a Registered General Nurse and a Midwife at Ridge Hospital. Since joining the research centre in 2010, she has learnt that no single approach is the right one for every research problem, and thus availed herself and had training in a range of areas including Quantitative and Qualitative research methods, Data analysis methods, Implementation Science Research, Systematic Reviews, Clinical Trials and Biosecurity and Biosafety for Controlling Health Threats among others.
Vida’s passion is in Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Adolescent Health and Malaria Research that will help make a difference in the health of individuals and the community as a whole.
Vida has vast experience in Primary Health Care, Midwifery and sexual and reproductive health. She has over the years worked to ensure community organization, sensitization, behavior change communication, education and dissemination of health and health-related activities. Vida has been very successful working as a project coordinator for Social Science Researches in the center.
Ms Kukula’s, educational background includes a Master’s in Public Health (Population, Family and Reproductive Health) and BSc in Nursing from the University of Ghana; certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration; and certificate in Global-Partnership-Initiated-Biosecurity-Academia for Controlling Health Threats (GIBACHT) from the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM) in partnership with the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET)
Ms. Kukula has primary professional training in Community Health Nursing, Registered General Nursing and Registered Midwifery. She is licensed under the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana.
