The conference was held in Accra from 23rd to 25th February 2016. On 23rd February, the participants were divided into two groups for a field trip to ShaiOsudoku and NingoPrampram districts. The visit was to familiarize themselves with the Health and Demographic Surveillance Site (HDSS) involved in the EMBRACE project and also have firsthand interaction with the clients and staff involved. ABACUS is an INDEPTH project on community-based antibiotic access and use. The ABACUS Project assesses and compares community-based antibiotic access and consumption, and the factors that underpin them, in six countries in Africa and Asia.

A three day workshop was organized by INDEPTH from 2 – 4 May 2017 at the Witts School of Public Health, University of Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Participants were from six countries in Africa and Asia including Ghana, South Africa and Mozambique in Africa and Bangladesh, Vietnam and Thailand in Asia.
